Setting Up KQED Learn to Support Students in Continued Learning
April 2, 2020 @ 4:00 pm - 4:30 pm PDTFree
In this 30 minute webinar, learn how to use KQED Learn, a classroom-based online platform for middle and high school students, to engage and assess student argument-writing and media creation in a distance learning context.
Above The Noise, KQED and PBS Digital Studios’ video series presents information about debatable topics ranging from school dress codes to gene editing. Students can discuss online with peers from around the country and respond with text, graphic, video or audio. KQED Learn also hosts the Let’s Talk About Election 2020 audio and video commentary challenge. Students can create evidence-based persuasive media pieces and view and comment on each other’s work.
KQED Learn is a powerful addition to almost any educator’s online distance learning toolbox, complete with peer-to-peer activities, scaffolds and assessment strategies.
