HipHopEd embraces the intersection of Hip-Hop & education.

#HipHopEd Twitter chat serves as a virtual professional learning network of educators, scholars, students, and community members who gather to have discussions around the intersections of hip-hop and education. The #HipHopEd Twitter chat started in 2010, with a few consistent participants and has grown into a network of over 18,000 international members. Each week a topic is posed to the community and for one hour, participants of the Twitter chat share their reflections, responses, attitudes, beliefs, experiences, tools/resources/information with the professional learning community. We intentionally strive to create a space where academic credentials are not necessary to be a part of the learning network. Therefore, a participant’s value to the network is based solely on their participation.
