Maker Ed is thrilled to host the first Maker Educator Convening for experienced maker educators on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, CA.

The goals of this one day event include:

  • Convening maker educators who have successful maker education programs and makerspaces, and want to share, scale and spread their work
  • Showcasing best practices of leaders in the field
  • Tackling challenges faced by established makerspaces and maker education programs
  • Establishing a nationwide network of maker educators and goals for future convenings

The day will consist of speakers from around the country who will share best practices and relevant topics associated with sustainability, equity and assessment, as well as discussion-based, break out sessions for participants to dive deep into a topic of interest. Check out the agenda here. Learn more about the individual sessions here

The Maker Educator Convening will be held in conjunction with Maker Con. All attendees of the convening will be invited to the closing keynote and reception at Maker Con that day. Participants can also take advantage of the Maker Con showcase at any time throughout the day!

In addition, attendees will receive a free ticket to FRIDAY@MakerFaire, a special, early access day for Maker Faire Bay Area.
