Are you a young adult? A maker? Seeking summer employment, and a chance to be a pioneer in maker education and leadership? The Maker Corps is now accepting applications from creative individuals who are passionate about sharing their love of learning and making with others.
If accepted as a Maker Corps Member, you will:
Be employed at a Host Site for the summer of 2013 to engage children and families in creative projects that develop problem-solving skills, while gaining experience serving as a community leader. All Host Sites are youth-serving organizations such as libraries, museums, and schools. For a current list and map of Host Sites, click here.
Join a select community training with peers in an online, interactive Spring Development Camp, making, inventing, collaborating, and preparing for Host Site placements.
Develop a creative portfolio of your work, project development and ideas to aid in future career opportunities.
Receive a Possibility Box full of materials, tools, surprises and cool stuff designed to spark exploration, and experimentation.
To qualify, you must be at least 18 years old as of April 1, 2013, be available for 8 weeks of online training April – May and reside in one of the Host Site cities for the summer of 2013. The Application deadline has been extended for select sites to March 8. Please note that applications will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis. Apply as early as possible!

Maker Corps Members can apply to parter with libraries, science and children’s museums, schools, Girl Scouts programs, universities, hacker spaces, and various other youth- serving organizations that bring making to children.
