Making Spaces schools across the country have been hard at work crafting crowdfunding campaigns to support each of their unique visions of making. Using the Making Spaces Toolkit, developed by our partners at the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh, our 7 schools worked through a vision and goal-setting process, determined their tools, materials, and space needs, and curated creative and exciting crowdfunding campaigns.
In Salmon, ID, Salmon Public Library and Salmon High School have teamed up to bring making into their rural community: “We want to honor the traditional arts that exist in our community by inviting those craftsmen to mentor the youth while at the same time absorbing what the student knows about emerging technologies.”
In Oakland, CA, the makerspace teacher at Roosevelt Middle School, Carl Barone, wants to provide his students with digital fabrication tools, fostering skills that will help them in college and beyond: “Our students do not get the same kind of experiences as students of higher socioeconomic status; your donation will help them gain equitable access to higher education institutions.”

From young entrepreneurs in Arkansas, to traditional craftsmen in Idaho, and engineers in the making in California, we need your support.
