Located in Santa Ana, CA, THINK Together works with the O.C. STEM Initiative to provide out-of-school time/extended learning experiences to youth that engage them in STEM learning.
THINK Together’s Maker VISTA members worked with other staff members to host the 1st ever O.C. Tinkering cohort. The cohort consisted of 10 people from various Orange County-based organizations, who met bi-weekly for six weeks. The cohort discussed various topics ranging from incorporating making into the classrooms and curriculum, favorite tools and materials, activities and projects, and the Maker Mindset.
As a result of the O.C. Tinkering Cohort, the VISTAs created contest called Monthly STEM challenges, to continue to engage the cohort, other educators, and youth in STEM making activities. The challenges began on November 3.
