Located in Sanger, Ca, SAM Academy is a program focused on inspiring youth to become contributing members of society, by offering educational-based programs in science, math, and music. At SAM, Maker VISTA members helped plan and coordinate participation in the Fresno Ideaworks Day held on April 27, 2014 at Chuckchansi Park. VISTAs worked with SAM Academy staff to coordinate student involvement in the Nerdy Derby Challenge and helped plan logistics, promote student involvement, and document key moments of the participating youth.
