Housed in the LAB Miami in Miami, FL, MIAMade is an organization dedicated to fostering a sustainable maker culture in the local community, by offering making programs for youth and adults.
Maker VISTA members at MIAMade have been recruiting and training new volunteers to support various MIAMade community maker programs. The most recent volunteers recruited by VISTAs will support two major MIAMade events, Maker Saturdays and the 2014 Miami Mini Maker Faire. Check out the photos below!
Maker Saturdays are monthly maker workshops held at the LAB Miami. The workshops are led by various STEM professionals and educators within the Miami community.
Youth and other community members in Miami come together to learn a variety of making activities. Facilitators focus on activities that participants can integrate into various formal and informal educational settings.
Youth, who are experienced with making activities such as 3D printing, guide both peers and adults through the process of getting started with 3D printing.
