Located in Pittsburgh, PA, Assemble is a non-profit organization focused on connecting artists, technologists, and makers with adults and kids of all ages through interactive gallery shows, community , learning parties, and workshops focused on teaching STEAM principles (science, technology, engineering, art, and math).
VISTA members at Assemble have been forming partnerships with various Pittsburg area organizations, schools, and businesses. By partnering with these organizations, Assemble will gain access to more resources such as in-kind donations and funding, which can be used to support its youth making programs.
As result of a partnership formed by VISTAs with a local business, Assemble has the opportunity to plan and host a fundraising event call Bantam Night. Bantam Nights, held at the local Pittsburgh distillery, are fundraising events that non-profits like Assemble have the opportunity to host at low or no expense to the organization. During Bantam Nights, 12% of all drink and merchandise sales are donated to the host organization. The VISTA are planning to host the event later this year.
