Gary Hall is one of two all-star Maker VISTA members serving at Lighthouse Community Charter School in Oakland, CA. A native of California, Gary came to the Maker VISTA program from a project management background, having previously worked in the IT sector as well as having run his own personal training business. While he was not previously familiar with making, he dove-in headfirst at Lighthouse.
Founded in 2002, Lighthouse is a K-12 school serving nearly 1,000 students from historically underserved communities in Oakland. Its mission is to prepare all students for college and the career of their choice by equipping youth with the skills, knowledge, and tools to become a self-motivated, competent, lifelong learner.
