Announcing Maker Corps 2015: Join us for Info Sessions in Early December

We’re excited to announce the 2015 Maker Corps program! Be a host site!

For 2015, like in years past, Maker Ed will collaborate with host sites to outreach, train, and support Maker Corps Members, who, as summer staff at host sites, will bring maker activities and approaches to summer programming for a variety of youth and audiences across the country. In 2014, we had the privilege of working with 34 host sites and 100 Maker Corps members in the spring and summer, and we know that they all continue to have an impact in their communities to this day.

In preparation for 2015, we will be hosting two information sessions in early December 2014 to introduce the Maker Corps program, answer any questions related to the application process, and get the year started! Specific topics to be covered in the info session are:

  • The 2015 Maker Corps timeline, particularly the application opening on Jan 5, 2015.
  • What’s new! Based on feedback from all participants, we’re thrilled to be revamping our spring Development Camp, along with other elements of the Maker Corps program. Join us to hear more.
  • Program fees, including opportunities to apply and qualify for a grant covering all program costs.
  • How to express interest and stay connected with Maker Ed news.

The information sessions will be held online via Google+ Hangouts on the following dates and times. Mark your calendars, save the dates, and join us to learn more about how your summers can be full of fun, hands-on making, unique to your site and community.

RSVP to join or watch here!

In the meantime, sign up here for our mailing list and stay tuned for more news!
