Looking for something fun to make at home? Each week we are collecting and curating resources around a topic and this week is cooking. We are focusing on making with what you have around the house, so we’ll be making pancakes together. Here’s some inspiration to get you started!
Chefs do so much more than simply combine ingredients to make delicious meals, and they have a lot in common with mathematicians and scientists. They rely on scientific principles—especially with baking—and use math for a range of functions, from measurement to ratios, to conversions! Learn more about math in the culinary arts with this video on Math at Work.
Follow along with us as we livestream making pancakes and talking about the math that happens when we cook!
We are so excited to support hands-on learning as educators, caregivers, and young learners shift to distance learning, and we need your support! Donate today so we can keep going.
