She specializes in bridging research and practice\, having worked as a staff member for out-of-school programs early in her career. She’s written practitioner and organizational guides; co-authored the fourth edition of Beyond the Bell®\, A Toolkit for Creating High-Quality Afterschool and Expanded Learning Programs\, a seminal afterschool resource; and co-edited Creating Safe\, Equitable\, Engaging Schools: A Comprehensive\, Evidence-Based Approach to Supporting Students and Social and Emotional Learning in Out-of-School Time Foundations and Futures. DESCRIPTION:Women’s Audio Mission is offering DAILY Girls on the Mic virtual classes via Zoom to students in the Bay Area during Spring 2020! \nWho are the classes for?\nGirls and gender non-binary students age 11-18 are welcome to sign up! \nWhen are the classes?\nMondays: Synths & Samples with Layla\nTuesdays: Beatmaking with JB\nWednesdays: Podcasting with Allie\nThursdays: DJ Skills with Jessica A.\nFridays: Coding in Earsketch with Jess R. \nAll classes are from 3pm-4pm and will run for seven weeks\, from April 20 – June 2\, 2020. \nWhat do I need?\nA stable internet connection and phone\, computer\, or tablet that works for video calls. You will also need to download the Zoom app: www.zoom.us \nHow do I join?\nPlease sign up below\, and we will email you a link to the class at least 30 minutes before it starts. If you sign up for a certain day of the week\, please try to come to every session!
